Yay! Celebrating 6 Years of Teaching Yoga! Since 12 Nov 2019

Today marks a significant milestone in my yoga journey—6 years of teaching yoga.

Looking back, I see how spirituality found me through the most unexpected channels. A hockey teammate at Khalsa gifted me The Alchemist after knowing me just a handful of days. My bade chachu and chachi gave me Louise Hay's work at Diwali gift exchanges. I asked for The Dancing Wu Li Masters by Gary Zukav after my photography teacher, Jeroo Ma'am, suggested it. Books appeared exactly when I needed them.

I saw myself in journalism, photography, or acting. After my Vipassana article was published, I turned down teaching opportunities—even from an Asalpha institute that wanted me to teach during my first TTC. But after completing that first TTC at TYI in Mumbai, alongside my Iyengar Yoga practice under my gurus, I finally took up a gig in Chedda Nagar. My first student, who had Crohn's, saw significant improvements. Next were US expats working in oil and gas at Trident, BKC who loved the classes. Then lockdown hit, and I had to move online.

My first online student reported improvement in her anxiety. Another got her delayed period. Workshop participants shared experiences of visualizations I myself hadn't seen. I realised this was a duty—to upgrade my skills for those who resonated with my teaching style and to maintain my personal practice as a duty to myself.

I've since dedicated over 1,000 hours to learning and practicing yoga. My aim has always been to make these practices simple, accessible, and meaningful. It brings me immense joy to see how small lifestyle shifts and mindful moments create big changes in my students' lives.

In addition to regular classes, I'm deeply honored to teach prenatal and postnatal yoga—supporting mothers-to-be on their unique journeys, helping them connect with their bodies and prepare for their little ones with mindfulness and compassion.

From my beginnings in offline Mumbai classes to the online expansion during the pandemic, I've taught people from Lucknow, Bangalore, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Chhattisgarh, Ratlam, Hyderabad, Allahabad, Panjim, Dubai, the USA, London, and Norway.

I've met, interacted with, and taught expats, film editors, pilots, architects, authors, filmmakers, journalists, producers, CEOs, casting directors, managers, HR professionals, finance people, fashion designers, business owners, bioinformaticians, teachers, corporate professionals, and even a scientist.

So far, I've had the privilege of touching the lives of over 222 students—and I'm just getting started!

To my amazing gurus, students, and mentors—thank you for inspiring me every day to be a better teacher, student, and practitioner.

Here's to many more years of growth, connection, and shared wisdom. Love you all!
